The pekka is a great card at defending larger tanks like the evolved royal giant, golem, and electro giant, but it is very rarely used because it is very expensive and easy to defend against. The pekka always allows the hog rider at least one hit on the tower and is only used in bridge spam and a rare graveyard freeze deck. The pekka most likely needs a buff in the near future or it will sit in mediocrity for a very long time.
